Robert Eugene Short

Short, Robert Eugene "Bob”, passed away at the age of 70, on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Bob will be forever remembered by his wife, Linda; son, Jason Short (Erika) and step-son, Randy Wright (Shelly). Bob will also be fondly remembered by his 5 grandchildren, Griffin, Olivia, Isabella, Giana and Melia; brother, Richard Short; sisters, Rebecca Miller (Steve) and Susan Turner. He is predeceased by his parents, Wilma Holland Short and Paul Short and his sister, Lola Hundley (Dave). Bob will also be remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bob was a native of Marion, Indiana and graduated Marion High School in 1963. Bob was an accomplished basketball player with Marion High School where he played guard. After later moving to Florida, Bob retired from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office as a civilian employee. At the age of 70, Bob was still an 87% free throw shooter and finished 4th in the Florida Senior games. Bob loved going to car shows and talking to people. Family and friends will remember Bob at a memorial celebration of life on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
