Born in Union Mississippi, on November 17th, 1937. The youngest of three daughters to James Claude Richardson and Willie Lee (Burks) Richardson, she spent her childhood in loving competition with her older sisters, Libby and Peggy, competing in numerous beauty pageants throughout their teenage years. Robin first picked up a Tennis racket at the age of 7 and enjoyed a lifelong love of the sport.
As a young woman Robin attended Huntington College in Montgomery, AL where she met and subsequently married Hector William Currie III (Bill) and started her first life adventure. Married and attached to the USAF they moved to England where William was born, followed by Lisa, Susan, Deby (deceased) and Brian, all born stateside.
After losing Bill in a civilian airplane crash in 1967, Robin married a determined young Civil Engineer, Ivor David Donaldson who also had five children: Bob, Barb, Cindy, Diana and Lisa Mae.They both adopted each other's five children and thus began her second life journey, managing the homestead of a very successful husband and ten children for 22 years.
With the loss of her second husband, Ivor, Robin married Dwight Owen Churchill and added three more adult children to her ever growing family: Marc, Kim and Dana and thereby began her third life journey.
Robin was more than just a Mother to her children, she was a guiding light and inspiration to her children’s spouses and friends. Her life and inspiration always revolved around high standards and expectations of herself and those in her influence, with all of life’s decisions determined not by doing what was easy but what was right.
Robin was the proud Grandmother of 16 grand-children and 13 great grand-children. Her guiding light and gentle touch will be felt by many for years to come.
Robin loved to travel and see the world, she loved to meet new ‘Good Friends’, Robin only had good friends, and share new experiences. Her faith in God and dedication to her Church were vitally important. She served on several boards for her Church, was a Stephens Minister and a Deacon.
If you knew our Mom you were better off in the knowing. Spending time with her Family and Good Friends, playing Tennis, her Gourmet Dinner Group, her Church and Sunday School Friendship Class, where she served as President, were the most important activities in her life. She led the way in teaching all of her children what is important. With sadness we acknowledge her peaceful passing as she again leads the way, beginning her fourth journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Robin Churchill's honor to the Sunday School Friendship Class of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church or Heifer International.
