Roger was born in Jacksonville, FL to James R. Williams and Frances L. Wiliams (Shores) on June 20, 1939. He married Joyce Williams (Fonseca) on January 11, 2006 in Tampa. He graduated from University of Florida. He worked as a sheriff and then homicide detective for HIllsborough County Sheriff for 26 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was involved in the Shriners for a number of years.
Roger is preceded in death by father, James R. Williams, and mother, Frances L. Wiliams and siblings.
Roger is survived by his wife Joyce Williams.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2:30pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Florida National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blount & Curry Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Shriners Healthcare for Children or the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
