

Born in Berkley, Michigan, Roland graduated from Michigan State University and proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. Professionally, he was a dedicated Life Insurance Agent and a property owner and manager in Tampa. He was a lifelong learner who spent countless hours ensuring he provided the best service to his clients, earning numerous awards throughout his career.
Beyond his professional life, Roland was a devoted husband, family man, provider, and community leader. He served as a neighborhood civic association president and mentor to many. He was playful, generous, a capable boat captain and family road trip planner. Known for his ability to fix almost anything, he was also a long-time fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Roland shared 59 years of marriage with his wife, enjoying a life filled with dancing, golf, tennis, grandchild spoiling, and international travel.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Roland T. and Jeanette B. White (Hacker) sister Jeannette, brothers Robert and Melvin, and granddaughter Paris Starr Murphy and grandson Derek DelRio. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Wehle), adult children, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren and sister, Marvel Marson of Warren, Michigan.
A gathering to honor Jack's life will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618 on July 9, 2026, from 6-8 PM with a time of sharing at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
