

LOVEJOY, Ronald D. “Ron”, 73 of Tampa passed away peacefully in the presence of family on December 1st, 2014 following a strenuous year battling non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Ron was a 23 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant, with service conducted in a variety of world-wide locations including Vietnam. Following his rewarding military career, Ron completed 21 years of service with the City of Tampa and retired as a 911 Dispatch Operator for the Tampa Police Department. A devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Ron sought solace in his strong religious convictions. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Lovejoy; son, John Lovejoy, CDR, USCG and wife Kim; daughter, Audra Montero and Carlos; sister, Barbara Salvo; sister-in-law, Elaine Lovejoy; Nieces Michele Melchionda and Jessica Franklin, Melissa and Stephanie Lovejoy and Nephew Michael Melchionda; Beloved Granddad to Jenesis and Gabriela Montero, and Lauren and Jason Lovejoy, his pride and joy in life. A memorial mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Ave in Tampa, FL on December 22, 2014 at 12:00pm. Family visitation to precede the mass from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Military Honors to be rendered prior to interment in the Florida National Cemetery Cremation Garden on December 22, 2:30 pm in Bushnell, FL.
