Born on September 30, 1935, in Omega, GA, Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Charles F & Rosa E Westbrook. Marie married Frank C Medlin on October 25, 1959. They shared 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Their Christ-centered marriage reflected a lifetime of love, faith, and commitment. As his devoted caregiver during his final years, Marie lovingly cared for him with grace and selfless dedication until the Lord called him home.
Family was the center of Marie’s life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren creating special memories along the way. Marie was well known for her Sunday dinners, which included her famous macaroni and cheese, a favorite that her grandchildren especially loved.
Marie was a woman of deep faith and a true prayer warrior. She carried her love for the Lord and her family in her heart each day, faithfully lifting up those she loved in prayer. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart touched the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Marie is survived by her three children, Frank Steven Medlin (Kandi), Carolyn Moore (Bob), and Tommy Medlin (Kristal); her six grandchildren, Chad Medlin (Viony), Megan Corrao (Michael), Erika Henderson (Ryan), Chelsey Healy (Patrick), Cal Ryan Medlin, and Carlee Medlin; and nine great-grandchildren.
Though Marie has gone home to be with the Lord, her love, faith, prayers, and cherished memories will live on forever.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:28-31
