Ruby was born on December 27, 1935 to Vada and Willis Hensley in Beardstown, Texas. Ruby had a career as an executive assistant for 30 plus years at KPMG accounting firm. In 1951, she met Charles and they wed in Houston, Texas in 1953, going on to have two children, Debra and Cynthia. After retiring in 1993, Ruby spent her time cruising, reading, cooking, and volunteering at church.
Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Vada and Willis Hensley, and her brother, Larry. She is survived by husband, Charles, daughters, Debra and Cynthia, grandchildren, Brandy and Jacob, and great-grandchildren, Siobhan, Stephen, and Colton.
A visitation for Ruby will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home @ Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 4202 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610.
