Scott Hershey, 42, of Lutz, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 7, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1982, the son of Robert and Suzanne Hershey. Scott spent his life in the home he shared with his mother, Suzanne, and his beloved son, Carter.
Scott was a kind and generous man with a sharp sense of humor and a heart full of love for his family. His world revolved around Carter, the person he cherished most. Together, they shared a love of collecting, buying, and selling Pokémon cards—a hobby that brought them both joy and connection. Their bond was unbreakable, and their time together was filled with laughter, games, and countless adventures.
Scott also loved fishing with Carter on Lake Virginia, where they spent countless hours “ripping lips” and making memories. Their faithful dog, Blu, was always by their side, part of the family they built together. Golf was another passion of Scott’s, a love he inherited from his father, Bob. He became a skilled golfer at a young age and carried that talent with him throughout his life.
Beyond his roles as a father and son, Scott was the kind of person who could fix just about anything. Whether it was cars, boats, or home repairs, he was the go-to problem solver for his family and most of the neighborhood. After his father’s passing, he cared for his mother with devotion and patience, always ready to lend a hand or offer support.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hershey, and his maternal grandparents, William and Doris Donberg. He is survived by his son, Carter Hershey; his mother, Suzanne Hershey; his sister, Lisa Kohmann (Chris); Carter’s mother, Missy Scott; his half-brothers, Bobby Hershey and Randy Hershey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him deeply
