Sharon Marie O’melia, 75, of Perry, Florida, went home to Jesus when she passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2022. Sharon, born on January 26, 1947 to Donald and Myrtice Spacone, in Tampa, Florida, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
Sharon raised four children; Rhonda, Royce, Amy, and Lisa. Sharon was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children, raising each of them to go on to accomplish great things and become parents of their own. Family came first and was above all else to Sharon, a value she instilled in all those around her.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Sharon also enjoyed gardening. She loved to tinker in her garden, and she taught her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to garden as well. She was especially proud of her apple tree. This past year, it bloomed bigger than ever. She couldn’t wait to meet her visitors at the door to take them to see her beautiful tree. Sharon also loved to cook. Most of all, we think she loved to keep the bellies of those she loved most, full and content.
Throughout Sharon’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those around her. She instilled such meaningful values into those she raised; children and grandchildren alike. Her strength, faith, kindness, pure heart, acceptance, and unbridled love genuinely touched everyone who ever knew her.
The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Our family will never be the same without her earthly presence. We will forever be grateful for being blessed with her as our family’s matriarch, and we will miss her every second of every day, until we are reunited with her, in Heaven, once more.
Sharon was predeceased by her beloved son, Royce, and her parents Donald and Myrtice Spacone.
Sharon is survived by her daughters Rhonda Petrov, Amy Jones, and Lisa O’melia; son-in-law Alexey Petrov; grandchildren Brandi, Nick, Sasha, Andrew, Nikki, Aaron, Shantia, and Cheyenne; and great-grandchildren Tavia, Tiana, Christopher Jr, and Kaiden; siblings Rick and Vicki Spacone, Donna, and Linda; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
