
Hanson, Shirley Robinson who was born on March 5, 1929, died May 23, 2011. She is survived by her son, Guy Hanson (Maureen) of Phoenix AZ; and grandchildren, Brian Hanson and Erin Morgan (John), great grandchild Philip Morgan; son Lee Hanson (Liz) of Brooklyn NY; sister Joy Bell (Lem); nieces Ginger Thrift, Becky Savitz, Shirley Prince; nephew Chris Bell, and numerous cousins. Shirley grew up in Tampa, the daughter of Virginia and Chris Robinson, also long term Tampa residents. Shirley graduated from Plant High School and attended Stratford College, F.S.U., and U.S.F. , and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, as well as the Junior League of Tampa. In the early 1980’s Shirley embarked on a career with the State Department’s Foreign Service, living around the world in such exotic places as Prague, Shanghai, and Pretoria where she made many friends and enjoyed countless adventures. If there is one word to describe Shirley’s life, it would be “fun”. That is exactly what would happen when one was around her. Shirley was loved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
