Popham, Shirley M, 94, of Tampa, passed away. Hollie ‘Pop’ Popham and Shirley Mae Maddox Popham, Sumter County natives, lived as partners in every sense of the word. For 78 years, they lived as lovers and business partners. Professionally, they were an incredible team. They utilized Pop’s landscape architecture degree, Shirley’s keen business sense, and an abundance of hard work to build a South Florida landscape design and installation firm, and later, a specimen field nursery. But they were most proud of the family that will carry on their legacy of love and determination; their four children, Betsy, Hollie, Deborah, and John; and 31 grandchildren. Their love for each other, sense of humor and generosity will continue to warm the hearts of friends and family for years to come. Pop passed from this life October 16, 2017 and Shirley on October 18, 2017. They will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, go fishing.
