Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, he moved to Tampa over 50 years ago. Sidney enjoyed bowling, fishing, any sport that involved Duke University, however, his greatest pastime was being with and helping his family. He was a longtime member of West Hillsborough Baptist Church in Tampa.
He is predeceased by, his brothers Charles Stone and Eugene Stone, and sister Lillian Crews.
Sidney is survived by; Nellie V. Stone his beloved wife of 64 years, daughters; Susan Townsend (Mike) and Cynthia Cheney (Phillip), grandson Nicholas Cheney, and numerous family members.

A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Fla. Those who wish may make donation in his memory to Season's Hospice or charity of choice.
