Stephen “Spike”, 42 of Tampa, Florida, passed away on February 13, 2021. Stephen was born in Clearwater, FL. July 30, 1978. Stephen graduated from Chiefland High School in 1996 where he went on to attend College of Central Florida. In 2000 he was hired as an Alachua County 911 dispatcher. After two years, Stephen transferred to the Hillsborough County Sherriff's Office, where he served the past 18 years. Throughout his time at the HCSO, he worked as a Dispatcher, Community Outreach Volunteer, Citizen Patrol, and Senior Supervisor up until his promotion to Manager in 2018.
Stephen was involved with his local community, from serving on the Citizens Patrol, reporting traffic issues, or just helping a neighbor with bringing in their groceries, he was always willing to help where he could. When he wasn't helping his friend and family nearby he enjoyed traveling. Summer trips to Maine were always a favorite and of course, the beach was always close by. His gift of making you smile and laugh during hard times will be missed by many. His time on earth was short and will feel unfair at times, remembering the time you had with him will get you through the tough days ahead.
