Susan "Sue" Woerthwein, 72, passed away on September 3, 2017 in Tampa, FL. She fought a long battle with multiple sclerosis and more recently cancer. Sue was born in Chicago, IL on April 27, 1945 to Melvin Thomas Rodgers and Margaret Edith Addis. She was the youngest of three sisters. On April 2, 1966 she married Theodore Woerthwein. Sue graduated from the University of Michigan in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education and taught elementary students at St. Theresa in Palatine and special education students at Corkery Elementary in Chicago. In 2010, she retired and moved to Tampa, FL to be close to her daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Carlos Hernandez and her two grandchildren, Gabriella and Oliver. A memorial for Susan Woerthwein will be held at 2 pm on September 16, 2017 at Blount & Curry Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL 33624.
