He was born and raised in Antioch, Arkansas, the only child of Charles and Madge Evans.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW 2 and the Korean War, from 1945 to 1952. In his later years he traveled with The Tradesmen Quartet, singing the bass as he shared through music the truth of Christ.
He is proceeded in death by Rosa Lee Evans, his loving wife of 65 years, whom he met and married in California in 1949. Together, they served the Lord and raised a family of three daughters.
He is survived by daughters Cynthia Kruse (Al), Linda Gano (Richard), and Janet Fisher (Jimmy); 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchild, sister-in-law Rose Pucciarelli, and nieces and nephews.
An hour Visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E.Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Carrollwood Baptist Church or LifePath Hospice.
