Beloved husband of Pat Curtis; Loving father of Sydney Curtis and Tom Curtis; Proud grandfather of Lily and May; Caring brother of Madonna Fowler, Libby Coombs (deceased), brother-in-law Don Coombs and a Devoted lifelong friend to the many he knew throughout his life. Tom‘s number one priority was always his family and friends, no matter what was going on in life.
Tom left a mark on all who knew and loved him and the world truly became a little less bright with his passing. His sharp mind and wit along with his love to debate, his humor and his deep love of those he cared about will be forever missed.
As a lifelong lover of knowledge and learning Tom was a respected tenured professor of economics who started his career at the University of Arizona, then University of Oklahoma and then came to USF as the Chair of the Department for Economics. Along the way he published numerous papers and published three books. Tom also had a successful economic consulting business and was the city of Temple Terrace’s negotiator.
Tom combined his passion and expert knowledge of WWII to create and run four European tours for others and veterans to visit and learn about famous WWII sites. Including taking veterans to Normandy during the 40th anniversary of D-Day.
