

LOUGHLIN, Thomas Edward Jr., 41, of Tampa, born Nov. 4, 1974, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 as a result of drowning. Tom leaves behind his wife, Sara, of 16 years; their children, Hannah, Mary, Tommy, John, Elizabeth, and Lawrence; parents, Col. (Ret.) Thomas E. and Catherine Loughlin; sister, Catherine (Derek); brothers, Lawrence (Ria), and John (Rachael); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A graduate of Culver Military Academy and North Carolina State University, Tom was known and loved by many friends, co-workers, associates, and hunting buddies. He was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, a children's Bible Fellowship teacher, an AWANAs teacher, and on various committees. As a Certified Financial Planner at Independent Financial Solutions, he took joy in helping his clients prepare for the future. He served on the Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a member of the Advancement Committee for Tall Timbers Research Station and Land Conservancy. As a dedicated husband and father, Tom not only provided for his family, but knew the value of time well-spent with them. An avid outdoorsman, he was often found in the woods or on the water. It was his delight to introduce others to God's glorious creation. His desire was that all would know the love he knew in his Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will take place Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6-8 pm, and Friday, Sept. 16, at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am, all at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz.
