Tobias Haines Vig, III

VIG III, Tobias Haines, beloved Son of Marie Vig and the late Tobias H. Vig Jr., was born in New Bedford, Ma. He graduated in 1984 from Chamberlain HS and was a proud Navy veteran, serving in Nuclear Subs for 13 years. Toby later opened Uncle Toby's restaurant in Tampa, and most recently worked as a coveted and skilled craftsman. Toby's passions were cooking, traveling and sailing. He was known for his warm smile, big bear hugs, a love of people and zest for life. He is survived by his mother, Marie Vig; 3 sisters, Catherine Tucker (Ron), Elizabeth Vig (Laurie) and Theresa Heston (Amy); nephew, Nick Heston; niece, Ashley Heston; special loved ones, Federico Pasucci and SamieJo Vierra; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and a plethora of friends. Toby touched our lives deeply. We loved him immensely and considered ourselves blessed to have had him in our lives. A life well lived, sail away Toby. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 15520 North Blvd., Tampa FL, followed by a social gathering in Toby’s honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Miami VA Hospital, Miami VA Fisher House (122), 1201 NW 16th St, Miami, FL 33125 in Toby’s memory.
