Tranquilina Cordova

July 6, 1921April 1, 2021

Tranquilina (Lina) Córdova, 99, of Tampa, Florida, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her children and grand-children on Thursday April 1, 2021.

She was born in El Salvador, C.A. and lived there until she moved to the U.S.A. in 1979.

She was a hard worker, dedicated mother, loving grandmother and loved helping others.

She was preceded by her husband, Isabel Córdova, and 3 of her children; Elena Elizabeth, Wilfredo Córdova, and Salomon Córdova.

She is survived by her children, Dalila Córdova de Cordero of San Salvador, Teresa Córdova of Tampa, Marta Córdova of Land O’Lakes, Alicia Córdova of Tampa, Tito René Córdova Gavidia of El Salvador, Blanca Potts of Tampa, Serafin Córdova (Claribel) of New Jersey, Absalon Córdova (Ninfa) of El Salvador, Ruth (Córdova) Sandoval of Chicago, and many grandchildren (their spouses) and great-grandchildren.

During her life she showed she was a person willing to help others, whomever needed her help specifically her husband and her family. Likewise she was willing to sacrifice for the benefit of her children.

Her unbreakable faith was never affected even through the difficult circumstances she had to go through, and that faith is what transport her descendants as she departed to her heavenly home, a genuine faith as the word states.

Exemplary mother, very close to the description of a virtuous women that is described in Proverbs 31.

Never lacked advise of the word and in actions; faithful wife, exemplary mother, and friend. She lived a true Christian life of testimony which made an impact in the life of her family and friends.

Without a doubt, her walk pleased the Lord. We have the assurance that she rests in the arms of the Lord, which she was hoping and calling for. Rest she now enjoys.

Glory be to God, the challenge is for her descendants and the example she leaves for her friends and people who knew her.

Her memory is embedded in each of us and her legacy as a monument to the faith and love that will continue to live while there is life.

Rest in peace precious servant of God.

I have many cherished memories with Sister Lina, her smile and laughter everytime my husband and I would talk to her. She always laughed at his silly crazy jokes that he would make up. My favorite memory of her was when I was about five to six months pregnant with my daughter Genesis. We were outside after Sunday morning service and she comes up to me and gives me these few pupusas that she had made special for me since I was pregnant. I thought that, that was so sweet and thoughtful of her, to do for me. I've never forgotten that beautiful and special gesture that she made at eighty six years old. To this day they are the best pupusas I've ever eaten.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of the beautiful lady that I knew. She always had a smile and kind word to say. Beautiful on the inside and outside. She loved her family and friends. I am praying for all the family. May she rest in peace.
