I remember when ....
As kids we would ask him to "drive like a maniac" through the tight mountain roads of PR. I remember his nack for the russian language. I remember the piraguas and the casa de bomberos in Ponce. I remember Old San Juan and El Morro -all the places he took us when we visited. He was such a proud Puerto Rican and loved his island and culture. He was a stong soldier and veteran who spoke of his adventures abroad. He adored our grandmother who left us much too early and is having the best time now I imagine, catching up with her and those who went before him.
I remember when...
As an adult he always supported me and loved me no matter what even when it may have been difficult. I remember the bowling alley in Plaza where he mentioned a Calle 13 quote to our server in a hilarious attempt to flirt. He was always joking and funny. I was blessed to have him in the lives of his great grandkids who will miss him terribly and may not fully understand yet. If I could wish for more time I would but his life was full and long and he is loved beyond his last breath. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and his legacy lives on. Papito, you were so much more than a grandfather for me, thank you. Te amo.

I remember “Grandpa” as a man who truly loved his family and the special coquito drink made by Camille at Christmas. He will be missed. My sincere sympathies and love to all of his family. He is your angel above now.
