Vera loved the outdoors and found joy in spending time at the beach and fishing. She was a devoted supporter of the “Adopt a Highway” program and dedicated many years to improving and caring for her Derby Oaks neighborhood. Vera made many lasting friendships throughout her life and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William D. and Vera Chapin Tritt; her parents, Raymond and Kathryn Vittitow; and her brother, Raymond Vittitow, Jr.
Vera is survived by her brother, Dale V. Kirkham; nephew, Kirk Kirkham; nieces, Liz Riley and Missy Pritchard; great-nephews, Dalton Messinese, Jared Messinese, Zach Pritchard, and Noah Pritchard; cousin, James T. Bailey, and his family in Raleigh, North Carolina; and cousin, Donna Tritt, of Asheville, North Carolina.
Vera’s kind spirit, generosity, and love for her community will be remembered and cherished always.
