Rowe, Vickey Ankerson, 92, is now in the loving care of our Lord, along with her beloved husband Wilson Stodghill Rowe. She is predeceased by her daughter, Carol Hennie, and sons-in-law she adored - Bradley Boston, Everett Hennie, and Jeff Black. She leaves behind six daughters and one son; Cheri Donohue (Mike), Aprile Black, Mary Audrey Boston, Sheila DiFalco, Theresa Michelle Rowe, Laura Grams (Keith), and Wilson Stodghill Rowe, Jr. (Abby), and cherished grandchildren (21), their spouses and children (16) who kept her life lively and wonderfully full. She stayed abreast of the happenings of all family and extended family – and the families of friends and neighbors - keeping track of the Mobile, Texas, South Carolina and Tampa cousins and sharing updates with everyone.
Vickey was born in Mobile, Alabama, the fifth child of Florence Virginia Becht and William Laurence Ankerson. She attended Sacred Heart Academy, graduating in 1943 which was the parochial school for the then Jesuit Sacred Heart Parish.
Vickey dedicated her life to her family and their endeavors - whether that took her to the PTA, the sewing machine, bake sale or track meet, she was always the first to volunteer and encouraged her children to do the same. Vickey loved friends and talking with them more than anything – she never met a stranger and never left the house without lipstick and earrings! She was blessed with a full house and a full and happy life. She will be missed by so many.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Vickey’s life filled with faith will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. 509 N. Florida Avenue, Downtown Tampa.
A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, November 23 from 4:00 – 6:00 at Garden of Memories. 4207 E. Lake Avenue.
If you would like to make a charitable gift in lieu of flowers, please consider supporting Meals on Wheels of Tampa. She cherished the friendships developed during visits by their wonderful volunteers. 550 W. Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, FL. 33603
