On April 10, 2021, Violet A. Cardoso joyfully embraced the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Also there to greet her was her husband of 27 years and father of their five children, Henry Cardoso. Her mother Maria Marcos Alvarez, brothers Ralph and Cesar Alvarez along with many other dear relatives and friends were likewise celebrating her arrival.
During her 92 years of life, the Lord blessed Violet with a vivacious personality and a quiver full of children celebrating her today: Randy (Robin) Cardoso, Rhonda (Scott) Cardoso-Smith, Roxanne (Lloyd) Garmon, Rosella (Bill) Nelson and Rochelle (Tom) Tagliarini.
Violet loved everyone she met and later in her life she embraced her grandson, Jacob Nelson as one of her own.
Her loving grandchildren include: Joshua (Cassandra) Cardoso, Casey(Michelle) Cardoso, Jennifer Davis, Jacquelyn Davis, Loren (Brenda) Leto, Lorelle (Ryan) Kaney, Rachael Nelson, William Nelson, Angelica Tagliarini and Alexis Tagliarini.
Violet’s 15 great grandchildren: Davian Cardoso, Marina Cardoso, Vincent Cardoso, Evan Cardoso, Myli Cardoso, Aiden Cardoso, Mina Rochelle Cardoso, Joshua Davis, Kathryn Rutledge, Isabella Cardoso,Victor Cardoso, Hunter Leto, Sophia Kaney, Jacob Nelson Jr., Nathaniel Nelson and Great-great grandchild; Violet Cardoso.
Born in Tampa on August 18, 1928, Violet lived part of her life in Ybor City as well as West Tampa. She was a member of the Jefferson High School Pep Club, National Honor Society and graduated in 1946. She accepted the Lord as her Savior as a teenager at Idlewild Baptist Church. Although her life wasn’t always easy, she was always willing to help and encourage others. She loved laughing, dancing, singing loudly out of tune, had a servant’s heart and traveled extensively. Violet never met a stranger and rarely missed an opportunity to lay her hands on someone and pray for them anywhere in the world that she traveled.
Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. Violet joyfully and fearlessly entered heaven with this song in her heart and a smile on her lips, “When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory.”
Family and Friends are invited to Violet’s Celebration of Life.
