

Dr. Walter Kruschwitz, 95, formerly of Tampa, Florida, died Monday, September 14, 2015, at his home at Brookdale Quail Creek in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a professor of physics and mathematics at several colleges, retiring in the 1990’s from the University of South Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin Gustav Kruschwitz and Bertha Anna Lehman, his wife, Virginia Stone Kruschwitz, two brothers, Verlin and Orville, and a sister, Lucille Hershey. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Kruschwitz of Mobile, Alabama, and Sharon Walters and her husband Hilton, three grandchildren, Ryan Walters, Erin Robinson and her husband, Corey, and Kelsey Olsen and her husband, Sean, and one great grandson, Stone Robinson, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was known affectionately by the staff of Brookdale as “Papa” and as “Dr. K.” by his students and friends. He was a great man of faith with a compassionate, generous, servant heart; a man of utmost integrity. Among so many other things, he leaves us all with so many great memories of him in our lives and in the lives of our families. Visitation and a celebration of his life will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W Bearss Ave in Tampa, Florida 33618, Saturday, September 19, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida having served in the South Pacific in World War II.
