

Pelc, Walter “Peck” Martin, 82, passed away on March 25, 2015 in Tampa, Florida. He was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania and graduated from Braddock High School in 1950. He tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1951 and would have been accepted but his height would have been a factor. Peck was a proud veteran of the Korean War in the US Army where he served a Combat Engineer. He retired from Equible Gas Company after 32 years of service. He founded the Bay Area Black & Gold Steeler Club in Tampa, Florida. Peck’s hobbies included all military history. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Violet Hosper Pelc; daughters, Debra L. Pelc Menacof (H. Cody Menacof) and Karen L. Pelc; grandson, Colton M. Menacof; brothers, Edward Wojciak (Shirley), Victor Wojciak (Janice); along with many nieces and nephews. Peck said, “I’m really going to miss myself.” A celebration of his life will be held on April 11, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the O’Brien’s Irish Pub located at 15435 N.
