Warren Frank Gilkey

Gilkey, Warren Frank, 87, of Land O' Lakes, FL. was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 30,1933 and passed away on October 20, 2020. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY., Webster Grove, Mo., and graduated from Crystal Lake High School in Illinois in 1951. Warren entered the United States Army in 1953 where he proudly served in Korea, returning in 1956. He then met the love of his life and married Patricia on September 29,1956. Together they raised their family in Westmont and Darien, Illinois and later in Tampa and Land O' Lakes, Florida.

His family best remembers his career managing the family Ben Franklin Store, Reichhardt dry cleaners, and later salesman positions. Warren always enjoyed his time with family, his pets, watching football, participation in his church, yardwork, and of course food. He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Joan Clare; father, Warren F.; mother, Marion; and his sister, Carol Wigner. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat; sons, Cary Gilkey and his wife Catherine, Bill Whitcomb; daughters, Lori Doty and her husband Rick, Carole Klimek and her husband Ed; grandchildren, Hilary Pratt and her husband Nick, Hannah Gilkey, Garrett Gilkey, Mallory Gilkey, Amber Klimek, Harley Klimek, Eric Doty and Drew Doty; great grandchildren, Dylan Klimek, Cassidy Klimek, Jack Lischewski, and Milo Lischewski.

Any donations in Warren's honor may be contributed to Idlewild Baptist Church where he was a member.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Idlewild Baptist Church located at 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd. Lutz, FL. 33548. A funeral service to honor Warren's heavenly homegoing will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Idlewild Baptist Church.
