Wilda Destin

Wilda Destin, age 81, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024 in Tampa, Florida surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 23, 1942, in Haiti to Estivene Dautruche and Olivia Etienne. She married her late husband Gerard Destin on April 12, 1971, and both migrated to the USA in 1975. Wilda Destin is survived by 7 children (Junie Jeudy-Cox, Garry Destin, Lyvia Jeudy, Jean-Bernard Destin, Guy Robert Destin, Robenson Destin, and Caroline Destin); daughter-in-law Tracey Destin, son-in-law Michael Cox; 20 grandchildren (Vanessa Barcel, Garry Volcy Jr, Bernaldi Destin, Elijah Bernard Destin, Abigail Destin, Tara Stewart, Theodore Destin, Samuel Destin, Jean Renald Joseph, Alfredo Rubin Martinez, Dominique Destin, Jada Alexis Destin, Elijah Destin, Sandy Destin, Scarlett Joseph, Laura Destin, Cliff Destin, Jeff Destin, Stella Destin, and Lauren Destin); grandson-in-law Aarron Barcel; granddaughter-in-law Cynthia Destin; and 9 great-grandchildren (Joslyn Barcel, Ava Barcel, Yasrael Volcy, Eli Destin, Kumiko William Destin, Andy Sergynho Jean Pierre, Teyana King, Sadie King, and Marcell Joseph. She is also survived by her 2 sisters Jacqueline Dautruche and Solange Noel, her brother Fritz Dautruche, her aunt-in-law Uctorieuse Destin, her cousins, her nieces and nephews; and her dear friends Marita, Dorette, Bertha and others.

Wilda is a loving mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a caring great-grandmother. May she rest in peace. She will be missed tremendously.

A gathering of family and friends for Wilda will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A graveside service will occur on Friday,

April 12, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.

Following the burial, there will be a celebration of life for Wilda at Cory Lake Isles in New Tampa, which is located at 10553 Martinique Isle Drive, Tampa Florida 33647.
