

William Donald Viers Jr. "Donnie", age 72, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was born in Tampa, Florida to the late William and Clara Viers. Donnie was a commercial fisher and a crabber.
He enjoyed a slow paced life, treasuring time spent on the water with his sons and time on land with his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He passed down life knowledge to the younger generations simply by how he lived his life.
Donnie had a strong work ethic, a great sense of humor, and the ability to enjoy many aspects of life. Not only was he a great fisherman and crabber, he was equally skilled at smoking the mullet, deviling the crab, and creating tasty conch sushi.
Donnie was an avid gardener; tilling the soil to produce fruits, vegetables, and an array of plants and florals. He enjoyed sitting out watching the cardinals and bluejays enjoy the seeds in the bird feeder and feeding "Peanut" his well fed plump Squirrel friend.
Donnie was also mechanically skilled; enjoying countless hours tinkering on his Mustang cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Michael Viers and William "Billy" Donald Viers III.
Donnie is survived by Danette, his beloved devoted wife of 52 years, six grandchildren; Kyle, Hayley, Aaron, Courtney, Chad and Dylan, great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Malcolm, Matthew, Autry and Hollis, extended family and friends.
A Life Celebration will be held, Saturday, August 10, 2024 2pm -4pm with a service beginning at 3pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake , Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
