Born on March 7, 1955, in Taylor, TX, to Anton and Emilie Martinka, he later attended St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School in Granger and then graduated from Granger High School. Growing up, he participated in FFA and enjoyed working on his family farm in Bartlett. As the farm expanded, he stayed busy doing all the things a farmer/rancher does like raising livestock, working the fields, driving the tractors, and eventually started his own trucking and bulldozing business.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working out in his gym and spending time with family and friends, sharing stories and reminiscing about the good ole days. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching the game with his sons. You could also find Alan any morning of the week sipping coffee at the local coffee shop with friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Emilie Martinka, and his brother Dennis Martinka.
He is survived by his sons, Brett and Neal Martinka, his step-daughter, Chelsea Bradley, his two brothers, Laddie and Dave Martinka, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alan was a loving and supportive father to his children and was cherished by his community. His legacy is one of resilience after surviving cancer multiple times, the love he shared for his many family and friends, and his humorous nature when he shared his stories. He will be deeply missed.
