
He was a World War II veteran and a farmer in the Wuthrich Hill area. He also owned a service station in Taylor and was employed as a pick up and delivery driver for Central Freight Lines. Aldo and his wife Margaret moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 2004 to be near their son and his family in 2004.
Aldo is survived by his son LarryAlan Meiske and daughter-in-law; Suzette DuBois Meiske¸ of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Jeremy Meiske and Erica Blackwell, both of Baton Rouge; one great grandchild, Savanna Blackwell of Baton Rouge; sister, Esther Lenz of Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Meiske, of Taylor; his parents, John and Anna Remmert Meiske, both of Taylor; two sisters, Atline Lenz, and Meta Meiske, both of Taylor; three brothers, Andy Meiske of Pflugerville, Rinold Meiske of Taylor, and Raymond Meiske of Austin.
Services are being held at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor and officiated by Kerri Veit, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Meiske, David Meiske, Carol Rein, Aaron Rein-Caballero, Ralph Remmert, and Danny Mikulencak. Visitation is being held at Condra Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. and, also at the funeral home, on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Burial in the Taylor City Cemetery.
