

Alvina was born March 23 1915 to Emil and Emma Schultz of Paige, Texas. She was born the sixth child of a large family who relocated to Smithville where she later graduated from High School.
In 1934 she moved to Taylor, She married her sweetheart John W. Thompson in 1948, and worked various jobs including working as a waitress, in a dental office, as a bookkeeper, and ran a successful business selling eggs to support a growing family.
Alvina was a member of St. Peter’s Church of Coupland from 1953 until her passing, helping in many capacities to further the growth of the church. She was also active in the school district in Coupland, always involved in the activities to help further the education of the many children she worked with.
Her hobbies included stamp and coin collecting, as well as handicrafts including sewing, cooking, and making crafts for her beloved grandchildren.
Alvina is preceded in death by her dearest husband John W. Thompson; she remained with him until his passing in 2006, all the while remaining a proud and helpful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
Alvina is survived by her Daughter and son in law, Sharon Bland and Robert, of Taylor; her Grand-daughters Stephanie Griffith (husband Josh) and Laura Nuckolls (husband Heath) and a grandson John MaCuk; her great-grandchildren Ashlyn MaCuk, Alec Griffith, and Ben & Griffin Nuckolls.
A visitation will be held on Friday February 3rd 2012 at Condra Funeral Home at 6pm.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 4th 2012 at Condra Funeral Home at 10am.
Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Peters Church of Coupland.
