Andrea Bodiford

Andrea Bodiford (Sandy), 75, of Taylor, TX passed away, surrounded by her family, at her home on August 9, 2014. Sandy was born to Luz Ramirez, Sr. and Natividad Ramirez on November 29, 1938 near Taylor, TX.

Sandy grew up in a family of 10 spirited brothers and sisters. She was the eldest child and could recall many stories about growing up in a large family. Sandy loved to go dancing to Elvis and Little Joe y La Familia. She was a loyal Thorndale Bulldogette and graduated with the class of 1958.

After high school, she worked at the Blazimar Hotel in Taylor and this is where she met the love of her life James “Jim” Bodiford. Jim said he fell in love with her from the moment he saw her and they were married on April 20, 1962. They recently had celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 20, 2012. She traveled the country with Jim as an Army wife. They lived many years in Germany, and it always remained close in their heart. When they lived in Germany they would pack up their five “Army Brats” kids in the chevy and go for long weekend rides throughout Germany, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. They retired from Army life and lived in El Paso, TX before finally settling down back home in Taylor, TX.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Bodiford, and their five Children; Sandra Marie King, husband Kurt, Edward Bodiford, wife Nancy, Michael Bodiford, Jaimie, Paul Bodiford, Rosita, James Matthew Bodiford, wife Erika; her 11 grandchildren; and her 4 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Luz Ramirez; mother, Natividad Ramirez; and brother, Celestino Ramirez. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Soto, Gregoria Medina, Lionor Riojas, and brothers, Pete Sr, Casper, Louis Jr, John, and Thomas Ramirez.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 6-8pm at Condra Funeral Home with a recitation of the Rosary at 7pm.

Mass will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 at 10am at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons Nick Bodiford and Samuel King; Nephews, Pete Ramirez Jr, Victor Medina Jr, Aaron Ramirez, and Mike Beyer.
