

Annie C. Naivar, 96, of Granger, Circleville Community, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, January 4 with Sr. Assumpta presiding at the rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM at Condra Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 5 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
She was born on September 10, 1914 in Beyersville to Charlie J. and Mathilda (Malish) Svrcek. She attended Beyersville school through the eighth grade. She wanted to continue her schooling, but her daddy told her she was needed at home.
She married Leo W. Naivar May 14, 1935. They lived in Taylor where they ran a small dairy until they moved to the Circleville area in 1941 to farm. She was a homemaker, helped with the farm chores and tended the garden especially her beautiful flowers. She loved cooking, sewing, and quilting. One of her quilts were a regular at St Mary’s Bazaars. She was a life long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society, and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. She sewed baptismal bibs for the young and lap quilts for the rest home. She was doing this until about a year ago. Born at the peak of the hurricane season Annie shared many birthdays with relatives that normally lived on or near the coast but were staying with her because of a hurricane. She shared her life and home with many, making everyone feel welcome. People loved to visit Annie. She was always the gracious host.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Leo Svrcek, sisters Angeline Tannehill and Leontine Havelka; and Eugene Svrcek, and grand daughter Julianne Naivar.
Survivors include children; Franklin Naivar and wife Aloma of Creede, Colorado, Barbara Buratti and husband Bobby of Austin, Texas; Thomas Naivar of Austin, Texas, Dorothy Nipper and husband Jim of Lake Mary, Florida. Grandchildren; Chris Naivar and wife Lynn of Cholsey, England, Mark Naivar of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Steve Naivar of Sanford, Florida, Malinda Buratti of Round Rock, Texas, Dewayne Buratti of Austin, Texas, James Buratti and wife Jennifer of San Marcos, Texas, Charles Naivar and wife Tami of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Shelley Grabowski and husband Mark of Austin, Texas, Matthew Naivar of Houston, Texas; Great-grandchildren; Laura Naivar of Cholsey, England, Lawrence Martinez III, Keary, and Sydney Burris of Round Rock, Texas, Madison and Morgan Naivar of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; sister Lillie Mae Kinser of San Antonio, Texas; brothers; Charlie D. Svrcek of Bryan/College Station, Texas, and Bill Svrcek of Crosby, Texas.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dewayne Buratti, James Buratti, Charles Naivar, Mark Naivar, Matthew Naivar, Stephen Naivar, and great grandsons, Keary Burris and Lawrence Martinez III.
