Ed was born on Oct. 1, 1936, in Granger, Texas, where he was raised and attended school. He graduated from Granger High School in 1955.
His work career began at Montgomery Ward in Taylor, and later continued as a mechanic in Granger. In early 1960, he started working with John Deere Co. owned and operated by Prewitt Hardware Co., later becoming Bigon Implement Co. He retired from Bigon Implement Co. in 2008, but never left his life-long passion of farming.
There was nothing that he couldn't fix, build or fabricate, and absolutely no one that would ever tell him when it was time to stop working.
During his life he was an avid hunter, fisherman, farmer and above all a devoted father. He was a tremendous friend to all who had the chance to meet him, and would do anything for any of them.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother Annie (Zavodny) Bigon and his father John W. Bigon.
Survivors include one son, Chet Edward Bigon and his wife Nicki, two granddaughters, Cassie and Brynnan, of Cedar Park, his best friend, Nancy of Taylor, brothers, John Bigon Jr. and wife Mary of Taylor, Albert Bigon and Nora of Lake Whitney, Daniel Bigon of Roseville, Ca. and a sister Bernice and husband Joseph Neigut of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 20l2, at 2:00 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your charity of choice.
