

Ervin Frank Volek passed away peacefully on April 26, 2012, at the age of 69. Ervin was born on Feb. 18, 1943, in Taylor to Frank and Ella (Mazac) Volek. He married the love of his life, Shirley (Heselmeyer) Volek on Oct. 8, 1966.
He loved fishing, sports and working in his garden. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed their sports activities, and loved being a member of Taylor Brethren Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Stephannie Woelfel and husband Edward Woelfel, two grandchildren, Madalynn and Logan Woelfel, mother-in-law Emma Heselmeyer, all of Taylor, brother Frankie Volek and wife Shirley of Georgetown, two sisters, Georgie Ochoa and husband Chuck, of Taylor, Aleene Selucky and husband Edward of Granger, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his cousins: Melvin Volek, Tommy Cadan, Rudy Dana, Gary Chaney; godson John Pokorny; and long-time friend, Donald Kovar.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 29 at Condra Funeral Home. Funeral, with Reverend Hejl officiating, will be at Taylor Brethren Church at 10 a.m., Monday, April 30. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery immediately following.
Memorials may be made to the Vision Fund at Taylor Brethren Church.
