Estelle E. Sladek

Estelle Evelyn Sladek peacefully passed away March 8, 2011. She was born in Goree, Texas to Velma Conger and Robert F. Butler. Later moving to Anton, Texas on the family farm where she met the love of her life Edwin Sladek, who came up from Thrall to pull cotton. She married Edwin on July 9, 1945 after he came back from serving in WWII. They settled in Hoxie community where she helped farm and was a housewife. She loved having her children and grandchildren around her.

Estelle was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Wand Pruitt and husband, Ernie of Carrollton, TX; a son, Ronald Sladek and Helen Graf of Taylor; grandchildren, Ernie Pruitt, Jr. and Mary Guthrie, Shannon Nelsen and husband Jason of Dallas, Coty Chapman and husband, Chad, Lacie Sladek and Jose Aleman of Taylor; three great-grandchildren, one sister, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Condra Funeral Home, 503 Talbot, Taylor. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 12, 2011, 10 a.m. at Condra Memorial Chapel, Pastor Glenn Scruggs will be officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
