Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Rohlack, her parents; Adolph and Ida Mager, along with four half-sisters; Clara Heise, Augusta Beyer, Annie Krieg and Lena Goetz and three half-brothers; Herman, August and Gus Mager. Along with a number of nieces and nephews; Milton Goetz, Lilian Moehnke, Hugo Beyer, Lydia Beyer, Annie Mae Watts, Clarence Mager, Gus Mager Jr., Carl Moehnke and Shirley Pooley.
Evelyn was baptized by Pastor Hartman at St John Lutheran church in Thrall on March 24, 1918 and she was confirmed by Pastor S. A. Bogish at St. John Lutheran church in Thrall on March 20, 1932. Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Thrall, she was the general treasure for the woman of the church for a number of years. She also taught Sunday school in the basement of the old parish and played the old pump organ until they purchased a piano.
Evelyn attended and graduated from Thrall High School in May 1936. She worked at HEB and Taylor Bedding, she later attended Nixon Clay Business School. She then worked for 23 years as the Secretary/Bookkeeper for the Thrall Public School. Even after retirement she worked part time for five more years.
On December 26, 1943 Evelyn married the love of her life Roy D. Rohlack of Elgin, Texas. They enjoyed 49 loving years before his passing.
During Evelyn’s life she enjoyed reading, dancing, playing dominoes, sewing and visiting family and friends. She sewed over 100 quilt tops when the women of the church were making quilts for world relief.
Evelyn is survived by nieces; Elsie Bachmeyer, Mildred Weise and Joyce Remmert along with one nephew Ralph Remmert.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Moehnke, John Moehnke, Dennis Sweazea, Perry Wall, Harold Fisher, Edward Weise, Carol Bachmeyer, Dennis Harwell and Troy Marx.
An open visitation will be held from 10am to 5pm on Wednesday February 15, 2016 at Condra Funeral Home.
