Fran was born on June 13, 1925 in Warren, AR to the late James Tilman Talbot and Nora Pearl Temple. The modest family moved to Taylor, Texas and in 1943 purchased a home at 904 Kimbro Street. Fran worked 45 years for Taylor Bedding from May 13, 1943 until July 31, 1988. During the war years she volunteered to stitch pockets on the trousers of uniforms for those serving in World War II. Fran was a humble and private person with a generous heart. Her sense of humor endeared her to many.
Fran was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Taylor, serving as a Deacon (1970-1972), President of the Interchurch Workers (1970-1972), Council Historian and Elder (1990-1993). Fran was a lifetime member of Women of the Church Circle #4. Fran joined the First United Methodist Church in 2006.
Fran was devastatingly good at bowling and participated in many teams over the years. Fran enjoyed traveling with The Roadrunners for many years visiting all but two of our country’s 50 states. Fran’s favorite thing was spending time with friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Leroy Richardson, Fay Richardson, Floy Richardson, Virginia Richardson and James T. Talbot. Fran is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Jo Talbot and nephew Daniel C. Talbot of Gautier, MS as well as a nephew Ian S. Scott Talbot (Springfield, VA) and niece Sara E. (Talbot) Mickelson (Tampa, FL). We will miss her dearly.
