George Laffone Burnett, 87, of Coupland, passed away on January 2nd 2013 in his home. George was born on November 19th 1926 to Lorell and Mary Burnett in Pushmatah County, Oklahoma. George married Theda Beth Evans in Austin, TX after his service during the second World War. George served his country proudly in the United States Navy, where he learned what would become his lifetimes trade – that of a pipeline welder. George was a member of the Pipeliners Union Local 798. In addition to his service and his trade, George was a good cook, gardener, domino and pool player, and proud father.
George is preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
George is survived by his sons, Larry Ray Burnett and James Leonard (wife Nina) Burnett; his grandsons Tyler and Cooper Burnett; and many other friends and family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Thursday January 9th in Condra Funeral Home.
