July 29, 1937 – October 23, 2026
Jerry Henry Kallus, 89, passed away on October 23, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a loving family, countless friendships, and a legacy that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jerry was born on July 29, 1937, in Granger, Texas, to Jerry and Mildred Kallus. Raised with strong family values and a hardworking spirit, Jerry grew into a man who would become a familiar and respected face throughout the Taylor community.
On June 25, 1960, Jerry married the love of his life, Diane Kay Kallus, beginning a journey together filled with love, family, and memories. In 1972, their family grew when they welcomed their first daughter, Nicole, affectionately known as Nikki, in January, followed by their second daughter, Candice, lovingly known as Candy, in September. Their daughters brought tremendous joy to their lives, and family remained at the center of everything they held dear.
For decades, Jerry was a well-known and familiar face in Taylor, Texas, where he owned and operated City Body Shop. He also spent many years working as a wrecker driver, becoming someone countless people in the community knew and recognized. Through his years of hard work, dedication, and service, Jerry built not only a business but also lasting friendships and connections throughout the community.
While Jerry was known to so many through his work, his greatest joy was found in his family, especially his three beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, and Phoebe. To them, he was simply and lovingly known as "Papa." It was a title he treasured, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, enjoying family gatherings, or simply being together, those moments were among his most precious.
Jerry lived a long and wonderful life, filled with love, laughter, hard work, and countless memories. He loved his family dearly and valued the many friendships he made throughout his lifetime. His presence was a familiar comfort to those who knew him, and the memories he created will continue to bring warmth to the hearts of his loved ones.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Kay Kallus, and his parents, Jerry and Mildred Kallus.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Nicole "Nikki" and her husband, Ray, and Candice "Candy" and her husband, Todd; and his cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, and Phoebe.
Although saying goodbye is never easy, his family finds comfort in the hope that Jerry has been reunited with his beloved Diane in Heaven. Their love story, which began so many years ago, is now remembered with the peace of knowing they are together once more.
Jerry's earthly journey may have come to an end, but the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind will live on for generations. He will be deeply missed by his family, his countless friends, and the Taylor community he called home for so many years.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever our Papa.
