Josefa D (Degollado) Quintanilla

May 7, 1925July 26, 2018

With our hearts full of sadness, we are saying goodbye to our Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Surrounded by her loving family, Josefa D Quintanilla went to be with her Lord and Savior on, July 26, 2018. There will be a visitation and a rosary at the Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett TX on Sun. July 29, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday a funeral mass at 10 am at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. She was born on May 7, 1925 to Eluterio and Virginia Degollado in Dr. Arroyo Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She married Ignacio Quintanille on October 8 , 1945. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her family and her faith were the two most important things in her life. Through her daily devotion of caring for her family and her nightly prayers, she instilled the power of faith and religion in her family. In cooking her delicious Sunday dinners and her tradition of making tamales at Christmas, she brought us all together, siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren, to realize the importance of family togetherness. Gardening was her favorite hobby. To say she loved to garden is an understatement, as she was happiest when she was planting a new flower or rose bush or just making a new home for one of her existing plants. Her green thumb was evident in the beauty she created and will be remembered by us all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio Quintanilla, three brothers, Pedro Degollado, Cirillo Degollado and Antonio Degollado and a sister, Aurelia Gonzalez. She is survived by two sons, Mario Quintanilla, wife Rosa, Richard Quintanilla, wife Monica, seven daughters, Eva Matamoros, husband Tony, Josie Vargas, husband Joe, Gracie Juarez, husband Henry, Ema Luna, husband Michael, Connie Espinoza (Edward), Mary Moreno and Rosie Quintanilla, 26 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Felix Degollado, Martin Degollado, Abraham Degollado and a sister, Celia Degollado.
