OBITUARY

Linda Harrison

September 19, 1942October 4, 2021

Linda Kay Cook- Harrison, age 79, passed away peacefully October 4, 2021, due to cancer and congestive heart failure. Her family was by her bedside. She was born September 19, 1942, in Taylor, Texas to Ted and Lillian Cook. She married Walter E Harrison, in December of 1962 and would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on December 15th.

Linda was a special lady who loved people and just wanted to make them happy. One way she did this was to establish the Taylor Toppers of the Red Hat Society with about 20+ members. They would visit rest homes and assisted living facilities in Taylor, Granger and Round Rock where they entertained the residents with song and dance from their era. She was the Queen of the Red Hat chapter and directed the activities for fifteen years until failing health. She was very talented and creative with arts and crafts and would spend weeks making beautiful things for every season and holiday for each of her grandchildren. She also made little gifts for each of the residents of the rest homes visited. Linda was a devout Christian who never missed saying her rosary three times each day. She was a gifted writer and speaker, writing and speaking, from her heart and real-life experience and spoke at many religious gatherings throughout the area.

Linda believed "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ. " Her life was a living example of what a wife, mother and real friend should be. Linda is survived by her Husband, Walter; Daughter and husband Heidi and Mark; Son and wife Tyke and Becca; Brother and wife Ted and Dianne; ten grandchildren; Stevie, Aaron, Torry and wife Amy, Shelby, Gracie, Presley, Madelyn and husband Ethan, Dawson and wife Jocelyn, Caden and wife Kayley; Plus, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

No Service is planned at Linda's request.

Linda was our queen, took great care to make it fun and exciting for us and the residents in our Taylor Toppers. She will never be replaced for they just don't make women like her anymore, one of a kind and a heart of gold. I know she is entertaining in heaven without pain and making friends with all there. My heart hurts for the family and our thoughts and prayers are yours. When God made Linda he smiled.

Our deepest condolences to the Walter Harrison family on the death of Linda. She was a wonderful person. She and her brother Ted lived just a block away growing up. Ted and I were the closest of friends during our jr. high and high school years and Linda became close as well. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Again, Jan and I are so sorry for your loss. May God be with you all during this difficult time.

To Linda's family...I was so saddened to hear of Linda's passing. She was a classmate of mine in the Class of '61. She was such a great person with a heart of gold and a laugh that wouldn't quit. So many fond memories of her from school, but also from reunions. We were privileged to have a Saturday afternoon at their home and enjoyed that day so much with her generous hospitality. That was at the 50th reunion. We were all at the 55th reunion together and enjoyed that special time together, also. Linda, you will never be forgotten for your heart and for your laughter. May your family find peace and comfort in their memories of you. Love you, my friend.

I saw Mrs. Harrison at Scott and White not to long ago and she told me how proud she was of the women i had become. She help me become that women. Heidi has been my friend for as long as i can remember and I spent so much time at the Harrison's house and always felt so loved there. Mrs. Harrison helped me get through so rough times in my youth and I will always love her for that. Sending love and prayers to Mr. Harrision, Heidi and family and Tyke and family.

Linda and I have been friends since 7th grade. We shared many wonderful and funny experiences both as kids and adults. Our families have been so intertwined through the years. To Walter, Hiedi, and Tyke I love y’all and loved Linda so much . My heart is breaking for your loss and my family’s loss. She is looking down on us now with no pain and will always be with us. We had the precious kind of friendship that we might not talk or see each other for years but see each like it was just yesterday.

I am so saddened to hear of Linda's passing. We were life long friends. We graduated together in 1961 and just had our 60th reunion whichLinda did not attend. Linda was the life of a party and a true friend to all. To Walt and the family I pray for healing of the heart and to know that I and the class of 61 will miss her but she will never be forgotten. Linda could light up a room with her laugh and she was always smiling. Heaven has a new resident and I will miss her. Praying for the family.
