outside of Taylor Texas.
She had four older brothers(Vernon, Torgny, Milton, Marvin) and a younger sister Ethel Lee.
She attended school in Taylor but graduated from Hutto High school. Rumor has it that her older
brother Marvin transferred to Hutto after being expelled from Taylor High School. Lorraine followed
Marvin to Hutto so she could keep an eye on older brother and report back to her dad.
After graduation, she began her career in the banking industry in Taylor then eventually moving to the
Austin National bank on Congress Avenue in Austin where she continued until her retirement in the
1970's.
Lorraine met the love of her life, Hubert Wallace whom was also from Taylor. They were happily
married and were quite the couple until Hubert's death in 1980.
They loved the lake, travel, entertaining and spending time with family and friends. Lorraine was known
as the family matriarch and hosted many special occasions, reunions, Christmas get together, or really
any excuse to host a party.
If you ask any family member or friend, each one can probably name a dozen different instances of their
favorite times with Lorraine. There are so many to pick from that narrowing it down to just a dozen
would be extremely difficult.
Most would say their lives were changed one way or another by Lorraine. She could be a shoulder to cry
on, a confidant, a mentor, or a friend. One thing you could always count on is that she would speak her
mind and would be there for you no matter what.
Lorraine passed away at age 89 on January 7th 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband
and all of her siblings as well as a host of close relatives and friends.
She is however survived by a sister-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, god children and very
close lifelong friends.
She was one of a kind, as we all are, and will be missed more than one can imagine.
