Born on February 18, 1950, in Santa Barbara, California, Marjorie spent her early years in Carpinteria before moving to the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s with her sister, Carol. It was during her career that she met the love of her life, Lloyd Binns. The two were married on December 9, 1978, and shared a devoted life together until Lloyd’s passing in 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer.
In December 2011, Marjorie and Lloyd relocated to Hutto, Texas, to be closer to family. After Lloyd’s passing, Marjorie moved into University Village Memory Care in Round Rock, where she lived until her passing.
Marjorie was best known for her radiant smile and contagious laughter. She greeted everyone with warmth, often a hug and a kiss on the cheek, welcoming all into her heart as if they were family.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Carol McClellan; her children, Stephen and Aimee Middleton, and Mike and Stephanie Akers; and her cherished grandchildren, Naomi and Dylan Akers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Condra Funeral Home, 503 Talbot St., Taylor, TX 76574.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at University Village Memory Care and Assisted Living & Valerian Home and Hospice for their compassionate care.
In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate.
Marjorie’s warmth and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
