

Services for Ray Garrett, 89, of Bartlett will be November 14, 2013 at 2pm at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett. Burial will be in Davilla Cemetery with Minister Mathew Albrecht officiating. A visitation will be held on November 13, 2013 from 6pm-8pm at Goodnight Funeral Home.
Ray passed away Friday November 8, after a long illness. He was born Oct. 18, 1924 in Burlington to Lee and Willie Criswell Garrett, and moved to Davilla at a tender age. He grew up and attended school in Davilla. He learned Ranching from his Dad, and he was a Market Inspector for the Cattlemen’s Association for 45 years retiring in 2003 because of ill health.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, a brother, and a nephew. He is survived by his wife, Doris Garrett; his daughter, Linda Thiele and her Husband Doug of Granger, TX; his son, Billy Ray Garrett and wife Barbara of Belton, TX; his stepdaughter, Ruth Bush and husband David of Waco, TX; his grandchildren; Danny Thiele and wife Tiffanee of Weir, TX, Terry Thiele of San Antonio, TX, Brandy Hart and husband Bob of Belton, TX, and Tiffany Bush of Robinson, TX; his great-grandchildren, Ryan and Chance Thiele of Weir, TX, Reagan and Sydney Hart of Belton, Tx, and Sarah Loreille of China Springs, TX; and his nieces, Ruth Ann Williamson of Houston, TX and Dee Dee Schewe of San Antonio, TX.
Memorials may be made to the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Dept. or Scott and White Hospice.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Zbranek, Brad Dawson, David Wolf, Bryan Burns, Mark Nygard, and Terry Thiele.
