Tony Michalik

Tony Daniel Michalik, 90, beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away during the evening of October 14, 2021 while residing at the Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett, Texas surrounded by family and friends.

Tony was born January 12th, 1931 in Taylor, Texas to Agnes (Pokorney) and Frank Michalik. Being raised in the local area, Tony attended Granger School. Upon graduation, Tony began his career with the Exxon Corporation and later entered the banking industry where he spent numerous years working as a teller until retirement. Tony was a committed employee for 1st Taylor National Bank where he took great pride in his work completing and balancing all his customers transactions error-free daily.

When not serving his customers at the bank, Tony enjoyed farming and working outdoors along with listening to polka music. His time was spent chopping in the field, or gardening as needed after the passing of his father. Tony spent many years caring for his mother both before and during retirement. He is remembered for his unique decorative yet fashionable converted “flowerpot” straw hat.

Loved ones preceding Tony in death include his parents Agnes and Frank Michalik and brother Edward and wife Virginia Michalik. Survivors include brother William and wife Mildred Michalik as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great- nephews, and several great- great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all the medical staff professionals and administrations of Hospice Baylor Scott and White Medical System, Taylor SPJST Skilled Nursing Center, and Will-O-Bell Nursing Home for their commitment to Tony Michalik’s well-being and care during the past year.

Visitation will be conducted by Condra Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas on Wednesday October 20th with visitation 6pm-8pm and Rosary at 7pm. Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 21st at 2pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas by Father Keith Koehl. Burial will be at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Michalik, Deborah Parker, Gretchen Finn, Janie Mucha, Tamara Friar, and Katy Safarik.

Pallbearers are Wayne Michalik, Gregory Michalik, Kelly Kubacak, Chaston Kubacak, Larry Stefek, and Brandon Roznovak.

Memorials can be made in honor of Tony Michalik to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
