January 7, 1939 – January 22, 2019
William Douglas Emmons, known to friends as Bill or Billy, passed away on January 22, 2019 at the age of 80.
William was born in St. Louis, Missouri and in 1950 moved to Ferguson Missouri.
He attended Washington University where he received a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering.
William enjoyed bowling, sailing, photography, camping, woodworking and driving thru winter storms from New York to Missouri.
He worked for McDonnell Douglas and Bendix Corporation before transitioning over to IBM where he retired in 1993. After retiring from IBM he had several endeavors in running his own business, cabinet working and surveying.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Mary Pauline.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Harriet, and his children Nate (Lynn), Greg (Bonnie), Julie (Robert), and Matt and by his sister Marilyn, and brother Roger. William will also forever be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, 9 grand children and great 16 grandchildren and extended family and dear friends.
We rejoice in knowing he is at peace & at home with our Lord & Savior.
A celebration of William's life will start with a viewing at 1 PM followed by 2 PM service, on Thursday, January 31 at First Shiloh Baptist Church, 100 County Road 481, Thrall, Texas 76578, with Pastor Ray Dennis officiating.
Memorial donations in memory of William can be made to First Shiloh Baptist Church in the name of Family Life Center.
