Willie P. Meyer

Willie attended Thrall schools until his enlistment in the Air Force. He served his country proudly and bravely in both Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1968 Willie began a career with Alco, retiring after 20 years.

Willie married Helen Jarosek in 1958. After Willie retired from the Air Force they made their home in Taylor, Texas. Willie was an avid domino player and spent many a day at The Station or SPJST Hall playing dominoes with his friends.

Willie is survived by his close friend and companion Verna Lou Anderson; son Ronald Meyer; son Kurt Meyer and wife Lisa; son Bruce Meyer and wife Kathy; son Michael Jarosek; two sisters, Shirley Sladek of Temple and Juanita Grande and husband Mike of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Aubre Ford and husband Matthew, Kristina Weise and husband Josh, Tristan Meyer, Bethany Meyer; and two great grandchildren Kileigh and Carleigh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife Helen Meyer, his parents, two brothers, and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Condra Funeral Home. A grave side service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Beaukiss Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tristan Meyer, Matthew Ford, Josh Weise, Howard Coffman, Mark Jarosek, and Justin Anderson.
