Bennie Brooks

Bennie Brooks age 72 of Harrogate, TN was born July 18, 1939 and passed away November 28, 2011 at UT Hospital In Knoxville, TN. He belonged to Hopewell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wint and Rachel Brooks,; Brothers, Herbert, Will Ed “Pete”, Wheeler, Jimmie Wayne; Sisters, Leona “Toadie”, Gussie, Marilyn, Lula, Ella, Bessie, Nannie, and Cornie. He was a farmer all of his life and was an over the road trucker for years and retired from Claiborne County Road Department. He loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his two grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Lucille Brooks

Children: Daughter, Rachel Brooks Barnard and husband Marvin of Harrogate

Son: Billy Brooks of Harrogate

Grandsons: Jacob “Yogi” Barnard

Alec “Lil John” Barnard

Sister: Cresful “Ted” Miller of Hazard, KY

and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P.M. Thursday December 1, 2011 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Friday December 2, 2011 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Pace Cemetery.
