Charles Kenneth Gipfert went home to be with his Lord on the evening of February 25, 2018 after battling heart disease and diabetes for several years. Charles was born to Kenneth E. and Mae (Welton) Gipfert in Denver, Colorado on March 16, 1946 who preceded him in death. Charles was confirmed at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, Nebraska. He married his high school sweetheart Donna Young in Sidney and they later moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1966 where he worked for Ford Motor Company and was self employed at Gipfert’s Marathon in Ypsilanti and at one time operating a Marathon in Belleville Michigan. He was a certified mechanic and enjoyed many happy years as a service station owner. In 1998, he retired and moved to Tazewell, TN to a small farm which he enjoyed working at until his death. He was preceded in death by sister Lucille and Brothers Doyle and Lynn and one great granddaughter Mya Hayes. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching grandkids playing basketball. He loved all holidays and family gatherings and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
The love of his life was his family.

He is also survived by Diana Neemeyer, Bill Gipfert, Marilyn Judd, Carolyn Harvey, Kenneth, Dean, Gerry, Jan, and Jana Lynn Gipfert.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 P.M. Tuesday February 27, 2018 at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Hack-Hurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to help with funeral expenses.
